Blessing of the Backpacks On the Sunday prior to the start of school, all Kindergarten students are invited to bring their backpacks or bookbags to the altar area for a special blessing, dedicating them to God’s glory as we begin a new school year.

Bible Presentation for the Third Graders

One of the promises parents make to God when a child is baptized is “to place the Scriptures in their hands” as they grow in years. Every third grader is presented with a Bible to keep for their personal use and growth.

First Communion Instruction

At Trinity, First Communion is generally celebrated in the spring of fifth grade.

First Communion instruction is incorporated into the fifth grade Sunday School curriculum. Prior to the First Communion date, the students will each decorate their own keepsake chalice. A workshop will also be held the Saturday prior to their First Communion during which time the children and parents will meet with a pastor, then make the communion bread that will be used during worship and also make their own personal banner.
Students that begin attending Trinity following fifth grade who have not made their First Communion meet with Jacki Mehr to make arrangements for this important faith milestone.
