Service Opportunities in Outreach & Administive Ministries

We love our Volunteers!
  • Whether you enjoy being with kids or working behind the scenes, - you will be a valued and important part of our ministry. We have many, many opportunities to suit various ages and gifts. Outreach Ministries & Administrative Ministries 

1. Boutique

  • Mid November Craft & Bake Sale. Volunteers are needed to donate craft & baked items. Volunteers are also needed to sew, cut wood and paint various projects.

2.  Campbell Soup Labels

  • Save soup labels, this can be used for educational material discounts for Trinity Children’s Center. A collection bucket is located in the Gathering Area.

3. Food Shelf Sunday

  • Trinity members are asked to donate food items on the first Sunday of each month, to be used for persons seeking assistance at the church office.

4.  Garage Sale

  • Yearly June. Volunteers are needed to sort & price items. Volunteers are also needed to help on the day of the sale.

5. Handyman or Handywomen

  • Volunteers are needed for small construction projects.

6. Health Ministry Team

  • This group of people works with and acts in an advisory capacity to the Parish Nurse in developing projects. This ministry team focuses on promoting the well-being of all, recognizing that health involves the whole person: body, mind and spirit.

7. New Member Sheperds

  • New members are received into the congregation twice a year. Trinity members are needed to “sheperd” new members to various activities such as New Member Brunch and New Member Sunday, as well as helping the new members feel comfortable and “at Home” at Trinity.

8. New Pathways

  • The New Pathways program brings shelter, meals and support services to families without homes. Four weeks a year Trinity hosts the New Pathways guests.
  •  Volunteers are needed as evening hosts, overnight hosts, to prepare and serve meals, set up and take down, lead activities, transportation and maintain supplies.

9.  Nominating Committee

  • Elected during the October Congregational Meeting, the nominating committee selects and offers a slate of prospective officers and Vision Council members for the following year. Committee convened by the Senior Pastor.

10.  Office Volunteers

  • Greet people who come into the church office while regular staff are at lunch or help out with special activities such as mailings, bulletin board maintenance, stuffing mailboxes, etc.

11.  Prayer Chain

  • Everyone is welcome to participate in Trinity’s prayer chain. Receive prayer requests by email and pray for needs/joys expressed.

12. Prayer Shawl Ministry

  • Knit or crochet prayer shawls to be given to comfort people in physical or emotional distress.
  •  Each shawl takes up to 15 hours to complete.

13. Quilt Makers

  • Meets twice monthly for fellowship and quilt/lap robe making for nursing homes, quilt sales and Lutheran World Relief. You need not be experienced as a sewer to join. Activities include cutting squares, machine stitching and tying.
  •  Meets at 9am the first and third Tuesdays of each month, September through May.

14.  Soup Kitchen

  • Trinity is now in charge of the soup kitchen every LAST Sunday of each month.
  • Volunteering at the soup kitchen is a great outreach for Trinity serving our community. It usually takes approximately three hours to make, serve and clean up the meal.

15.  Trinity Children’s Center

  • Trinity Christian based childcare center ministers to over 40 children ages infant to five-year-olds. Call 218-829-1385 for more information or to enroll child(ren). Call early – there is always a waiting list.
  •  Adult volunteers are needed to serve on the TCC Advisory Committee and as classroom helpers.
