Join with youth who have finished grades 5 through 8 in a summer service opportunity, along with other ELCA congregations in our area. Start the day out with a service project somewhere in the Brainerd Lakes Area with one of our amazing community partners, share in a picnic lunch, bible study, and something fun in the afternoon.
We believe that attending Bible camp in the summer is a great way to grow and strengthen a kids faith! Not only that but it helps strengethen connections back to the church. There are several ELCA camps in the country and 3 near us. Luther Crest Bible Camp is the camp our congregation supports but you may attend any ELCA camp. Trinity believes in camp so much we will help pay for half of camp fees for anyone regardless of financial need. We do expect campers to help with fundraising efforts like the Palm Sunday Breakfast, Spring Garage Sale, and/or Fall Bake Sale.
The Trinity 5th graders also participate in a more intensive Sacraments class that focuses on baptism and Holy Communion. They meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-5:45 PM. At the end of the unit they participate in a Sedar Meal with their families and also get to help lead the Maundy Thursday service. This is a special class for them!
Current 5th through 8th graders gather for an evening of fun and fellowship at one of our local ELCA congregations. We begin gathering between 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm, we share in a meal, dig into the scriptures, and have tons of fun. Watch for dates next September 2025 for the 2025-2026 Middle School Late Night events.
